No trip to Morocco would be complete without an excursion to the magical sands of the Sahara. The Zagora desert is a fantastic option for sunsets and camel riding and a destination you should consider adding to your list of things to do during your trip to Marrakech.
Day 1: Marrakech-Zagora
Depart from the riad at around 7:30 to begin your tour to the Dades Valley, where we will spend the first night. We will cross Tizi-n-Tichka in the High Atlas Mountains, where we will stop to enjoy the mountain views and take some photos. In the afternoon, visit the village of Ait Ben Haddou, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It is the famous backdrop for many films, including "Lawrence of Arabia", "Gladiator" and "Alexander". We will have lunch here before continuing our journey enjoying the natural beauty of the landscapes and historical monuments. The journey continues through the Draa Valley, where we visit the beautiful oases. At the end of the trip, camel ride to reach the Berber camp in the desert of Zagora. Dinner in the desert to the rhythm of traditional drums and desert songs. End of the evening dedicated to watching the magical starry sky of the desert!
Day 2: Zagora - Marrakech
An early start to the day so you can watch the sunrise before getting back on the camel and the car. Return to Marrakech taking the road through the Draa Valley, Ouarzazate and the Atlas Mountains. Continuation and arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon.
